Oh lord, was it really time to food shop again? So soon? That’s the problem of going weekly, it seems like I’m always there.

Cheesesteaks with side vegetable or salad – didn’t get around to that last week
Pepperoni and Provolone Sandwiches with side vegetable or salad – side is whichever we don’t eat with cheesteaks. Real low key dinner but figure we gotta use the other cheesesteak rolls somehow.
Chicken Burritos with Dole Southwest salad – First of all, I have to say, I’m a little addicted to Dole’s SW salad kit. It may be an issue. The burritos are a new recipe though

Honey Soy Chicken Tenders with mashed potatoes and a vegetable – new recipe.
You may notice chicken mozzarella pasta with sun dried tomatoes is *finally* off this list. Wish I could say it was worth the wait… but that’s the story for another post.
I started my New Year’s resolutions 7 weeks ago.
One resolution was to be better about updating this. I have clearly not succeeded in that attempt.
The other was to attempt to be healthier and become more fit. I’m proud to say that resolution has been going pretty well. As of yesterday, I’m down 10 lbs from my start weight on 2/2 and as of today, I’m down 14.5 from my all time high (which was a few days before the official start date). There’s still a lot of room to go but I’m happy with the progress and am feeling good about keeping up the good work.
I am absolutely awful at this. I know I am. I always try new recipes but when it comes to actually sitting down and typing – it only takes a few minutes- but still ends up never happening.
Well I decided to start my New Year’s Resolution on February 2nd. January 1 would have been difficult. A couple weeks ago, we had a 17-hour each way road trip for a wedding and I wasn’t going to pretend to eat well for that. Then the Super Bowl so quickly after. Wasn’t going to go well if I tried to eat healthy for the first month – like just about every person in America, I’m hoping to lose weight in the new year. The first week of healthy eating has gone well – making healthier eating choices, lost a couple pounds, and 3 gym trips in-between twice a week dance classes.
I’d really like to try updating this more regular in the “New Year” too.
I guess we’ll see how long each of these resolutions last.
^ that’s me. I’m a mess. I’ve been cooking at least 1 new recipe every time I go grocery shopping. But actually writing stuff has not been happening. But maybe with this reboot I’ll get better about it.
I haven’t forgotten about this, I promise.
In the pre-holiday hustle and bustle, life has been a little wacky. All the running around meant that food was more often than usual of the fast variety, either cooked by the wonderful chain industries or the tried and true favorites that I don’t bother recounting here. My mind’s been so frantically pulled up in that bustle that even reading hasn’t happened as much – I’ve been attempting to read Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales for about a month now. They’re good but since they’re short tales I’ll read a single 1 here or there and there’s nothing to pull me into continuing – none of that “just 1 more chapter, just stay up for 1 more chapter” that usually hooks me.
I got loads of goodies for my kitchen (including a crock pot and george foreman grill) and a sewing machine for Christmas which I’ve gotta figure out how to use so I’m sure that’ll be an adventure. I’ve also got notes on a craft project I did a few weeks ago but wasn’t posting about until after the holidays since someone (*cough*rachael*cough*) often reads this and didn’t want her seeing her Christmas present before I gave it to her 🙂
I’ll get back into the swing of things at some point. For right now though –

Pro Point 1 – Reblogging is pretty snazzy. If I make something again and want separate comments, I can go to the original, reblog it adding the new comments and keep it as a running tally yeah?
Pro Point 2 – I imported everything over from blogger. That’s pretty snazzy.
Con Point 1 – The styles are all messed up on the imported posts with recipes. Bleh. Ah well – that’s not something I’d have to deal with from now on and I can fix if I want to.
Con Point 2 – When everything imported, what was tags on Blogger is “Categories” here. I’m not too sure what the difference is yet. Bit annoying but like above, it’s not something I’d deal with from now on.
So I had (have) a Blogger site by the same name (makenomsnotbombs.blogspot.com) where I’ve been keeping track of any recipes I try, crafts I attempt, comments on books I’ve read, or whatever else. I pretty much just wrote my posts and that was it, didn’t really wonder around the site. Until I was bored over the weekend. That’s when I learned – it’s damn near impossible to find other blogspots to follow. It seemed like my options were google search or getting a google plus profile to in anyway connect with other people. And unlike this lovely publicize button I’m seeing to my right – the only way to connect to pinterest or such was to go at it through pinterest, seemed like an unnecessary step to me particularly when an alternative site can do it much easier.
I’ve looked some about Blogger v WordPress. A lot of the pros I saw were for more professional blogs than what I am and will likely ever be. I’m just looking to store recipes I’ve tried and my thoughts on them electronically – but if I can connect a bit better to finding more ideas easier, even better.
So here I am. I’m going to try to transfer everything from there to here. For a while I may update both while I decide which to use permanently.
